Sugar

Sugar

‘Yokusou’ {‘Bathtub’}
by Sugar

The faint sound of water flowing,
I listen carefully, but the stillness is piercingly painful,
Cold droplets of water form on the walls,
Eardrums vibrating, the pulsation rises up pallidly,

Submerging my body in the empty bathtub,
My skin that took on the moisture is steadily drying,

Forgetting myself, blending in with the white basin,
My fever comes down, boundaries become unclear,
It all dissolves and falls down the drain, here anything and everything…yes, it’d be best if it returned to nothing,

A lamp  my body  casts a small shadow,
Holding my hand out, I merely lose my countenance and question,
The clouded, dirty mirror that reflects nothing,
Closing my eyes, I leave behind only my heartbeat,

I entrust my body to the empty bathtub,
My skin that even warmth has faded away from becomes stiff,

Closed off from sensation, just floating here, my consciousness disappears,
If I am able to forget, just like this, soon,

I’ll stop my breaths, feeling the embrace of the white basin,
Warped as I am, I wished (I/we) could become one,
It all dissolves and falls down the drain, here anything and everything…yes, it’d be best if it returned to nothing,
